Best practice governance and the Charity Governance Code

Start date: November 20, 2019 5.00pm registration for a 5.30pm start. Ends 6.30pm followed by drinks and canapés

Good governance is fundamental to the wellbeing of all charities, so it is important that Trustees take the time to review their governance arrangements and ensure they are fit for purpose. It also promotes a culture where everything works towards fulfilling your charity’s vision. The Charity Governance Code provides the perfect opportunity to benchmark your charity against its peer group and develop future governance targets and aspirations.

This session will show you how to maintain a robust governance framework by embedding the principles of the Charity Governance Code into your organisation; concentrating on those areas seen as most important; providing helpful guidance to those just starting on their governance journey and more detailed insight for those who are more advanced.

Moore Kingston Smith’s not for profit partner and governance expert, Luke Holt, alongside Sally Knight, one of Moore Kingston Smith’s governance team, will draw upon practical examples, signpost the potential pitfalls and outline best practice suggestions to apply the Code to your organisation.
