Can fundraising research help you raise more money in 2015?

Start date: May 20, 2015 5:00pm

Every week there are new research reports about fundraising. It can be hard to keep up with emerging trends. This session will review recent insights and apply them in practical ways to help your charity raise money. What’s new in Fundraising? Here are some current hot topics that we will explore.

  • How altruistic are we? How do others actions affect our generosity? Research from writing legacies into wills to raising the most money on JustGiving will shed light on what motivates us to give.
  • Impact reporting is an important current trend, but do donors care about the impact of charities’ work? And do different donors behave differently in response to information about impact? Some interesting research from the US seems to indicate this.
  • Debate rages on about how much is too much. How often should fundraisers ask for money? We will explore some current thinking to guide how we decide.

These topics and many more will be covered in this session to keep you up to date with current fundraising thinking, as well as providing practical tips to scan the fundraising horizon yourself.
