In a survey of 442 businesses by Moore UK, almost a third of businesses (27%) said that recruiting and retaining staff was one of their top priorities for the next six months. 4 in 10 had enhanced the package they offer, either by increasing salaries or improving benefits.
Incentives can be financial or non-financial, and the key is to discover what your workforce and talent pool want. The answer may just surprise you. It’s also worth remembering that financial incentives could trigger a tax burden for the employee, so advice should be taken.
