Governance in action
In January 2020, Moore Kingston Smith and IBB Solicitors will jointly deliver their popular Annual Charities Update, bringing you up to date with the legal and regulatory developments in the sector.
Good governance is fundamental to the success and wellbeing of any charity. Building upon last year’s theme of ‘Getting to grips with Governance’, this year’s programme looks to take this one stage further and provide practical insight into current governance challenges being faced across the sector.
Following a short welcome, Luke Holt, a partner from Moore Kingston Smith’s City charities team will present an overview of leadership and board effectiveness.
Paul Ridout, Partner at IBB and Jelena Serbic, Solicitor at IBB, will then (by way of some fun interactive scenarios) take you through the practical issues that charities are facing regarding conflicts of interest.
In the second half of the seminar, Mahmood Ramji, our Heathrow-based charities partner will focus on risk, including an update on the Charity Governance Code.
Paul Ridout will round off proceedings by looking into the highly topical theme of environmental issues and trustee responsibilities, before chairing a Q&A session where delegates will have the opportunity to put questions to the panel of speakers.
Date: January 23, 2020
Time: 4:30pm registration for 5:00pm start. Ends 6:45pm with drinks and canapés after.
