How to Dismiss Fairly – City
In an ideal world, all employees would conduct themselves well and be able to do their jobs to the required standard and everyone would get along just fine. We would also have companies that run as efficiently as they can and achieve a great profit every year or not be subjected to cuts and so we would never have to consider restructuring or making redundancies. The reality however is that, for a variety of reasons, employers may have to do the unthinkable and dismiss somebody. But the key question is, how do they ensure that the dismissal is fair.
HR Insight invites managers of people and business owners to attend a free, interactive seminar on the law on terminating employment and recent developments in case law in this area. The Seminar will examine:
- Which individuals can bring a claim and qualifying conditions
- The potentially fair reasons for a dismissal
- Which dismissals can never be fair
- What is reasonableness and what a fair procedure looks like
- Handling the disciplinary hearing
- What the implications are if things go wrong
The seminar will also examine a challenging practical scenario to deepen knowledge and understanding of the employment issues.
Learning Objective: This interactive seminar will enable attendees to consolidate knowledge and skills in this developing area of employment law to tackle these issues with confidence. The training will be led by our experienced Head of Legal and an HR Consultant will be in attendance.
