#I’mfine: tackling employee mental health
1 in 3 people will experience a mental health problem whilst in work*
Following the success of our first seminar on employee mental health, we are re-running the popular session again this summer. A fast-growing number of organisations are now addressing workplace mental health and wellbeing. Many employers would like to do more, although the sensitivity and complexity of the issue can make it difficult knowing where to begin, while budget constraints often mean investment is prioritised elsewhere in the business. However, research has shown that in embracing the topic, workplaces can reduce absenteeism, boost productivity and curtail staff turnover. The first step is often enabling people to discuss the subject; a recent survey found that only 5% of employees tell employers when they are off with poor mental health. Our seminar will provide an insight into the ways in which employers can promote positive workplace wellbeing, tackle the underlying causes and support staff experiencing poor mental health.
