M&A activity in the marketing services and media sector is beginning to build, albeit cautiously. Well-funded acquirers, particularly those that are PE-backed, are actively pursuing opportunities. Mergers are happening as companies with stronger balance sheets act as safe harbours for those less able to weather the storm. Additionally, the strong possibility that capital gains tax will increase from April 2021 is driving some agency owners to consider accelerating a sale.
