Moore Kingston Smith Independent Schools Conference 2026

Start date: March 5, 2026 9.00am registration for a 9.30am start. 2.15pm finish including lunch

We are thrilled to announce the return of our Annual Independent Schools Conference on Thursday 5 March 2026 at the prestigious Saddlers’ Hall, London.

What can you expect from the conference?

With the implementation of the updated SORP coming into effect on 1 January 2026, our specialists will provide you with an overview of the changes, in particular, tiered reporting, lease accounting, revenue recognition, and governors’ annual reports.

We will also look at the new charity governance code and draw upon the insights of external professionals and our own experts from Moore Kingston Smith to give you a comprehensive update on the sector and its future.

As always, this promises to be a highly engaging and thought-provoking conference, and we eagerly anticipate your participation and the valuable contributions you will bring.

Sessions include:

  • Updated SORP 2026
  • New charity governance code
  • Facing up to the ‘multiple financial whammy’ – how have schools responded and what is the direction of travel of the sector?
  • Can your reserves survive with your existing investment strategy?
  • Fourteen months in: VAT and Independent Schools, what are the emerging issues?
  • Employment Law – 2026 and beyond: Preparing for what’s next
  • The sector’s teacher salaries and benefits survey; what’s new in the data and what are the key issues we see in pay structures?
  • Generative AI Three Years On: Opportunities, Risks, and Reality
  • Employee benefits – Attracting and retaining top talent
