Award-winning photographer and film director showcases work
Media accountants Kingston Smith W1 will exhibit the work of award-winning photographer and film director Barney Edwards at this year’s Art Open House, to be held tomorrow.
Once described as ‘the photographer’s photographer’, Barney has a reputation for ‘specialising in not specialising’, believing a good photographer should be able to photograph anything.
He began his career as a Fleet Street photojournalist before becoming a successful freelance advertising photographer working for top British, European and American advertising agencies, producing work from fashion and portraits to landscapes, reportage and still life. Later, he moved into directing TV commercials and was most often involved in highly visual narrative storytelling and ‘big production’ work.
He has won numerous awards for both photography and film-making including The Daily Telegraph Photographer of the Year, Campaign Press Awards, a Silver Lion at Cannes, and Silver and Bronze at the British Television Awards.
Graham Tyler, a partner at Kingston Smith W1, said: “Barney is a remarkable photographer and film-maker, and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to showcase his work.”
Barney is a member of Lensmodern, an online gallery and picture library where individuals can view, sample and ultimately buy some of the world’s best photographic images.
