Presentation slides: Enhancing client-agency relationships
3rd April 2014
Changing the way agencies do business
The nature of client-agency relationships is coming under increasing scrutiny, driven by a desire by both parties to improve conditions in order to reach a mutually beneficial association. As part of our focus on this topic, we were pleased to welcome at our breakfast seminar Wiki-Solutions, who presented the findings of their recent Ideas Lab, which explored better ways for agencies and clients to do business together.
Ideas Labs are facilitated on-line workshops which allow participants to work together to address complex challenges without the constraints of time or place. As such, Wiki-Solutions’ research has generated over 184 contributions from senior clients and agency principals across three core issues:
• How can we put a price on creativity?
• Is the creative process fundamentally wasteful?
• Should we throw away timesheets and find another basis for remuneration?
Wiki-Solutions’ Chairman Barry Clarke discussed the wide range of views, experiences and opinions which these questions raised. More importantly, he also showed that, although one size does not fit all, there are new and different approaches to the ways in which creative agencies work with their clients.
