FCA extends submission deadlines for regulatory returns

23 April 2020 / Insight posted in Article

In light of delays caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, the FCA has announced that it has extended the submission deadlines for certain regulatory returns due on or before 30 June 2020. For the majority of returns, there is a one month extension, while there is a two month extension for the annual report and accounts (FIN-A).

The FCA has detailed the temporary measures on its webpage, with a full list of returns to which the extension applies.

The concession means that if you have a return due on 22 May 2020 and a two month extension has been granted, the submission will now need to be completed by Wednesday 22 July 2020. If the extended deadline date happens to fall on a weekend, the submission should be made by the next working business day.

Returns not included do not have an extension and firms must submit their data in the usual timeframe. This applies to client asset reports normally due within four months.
