How to streamline your business

Do you ever have days where piles of papers are taking over your desk? You’re being besieged by endless last minute issues that need resolving but can’t find the answer quickly enough? And then, to top it all off, you can’t remember your password to log in?

If this is the case, then your business may be functioning but it could be running a lot more smoothly and efficiently. If everything was stored and planned properly, it would allow you to get on with more important things, stress-free.

Our top tips to get your business running like a well-oiled machine:

Customer Relationship Management

CRM is a great tool for businesses to store information in one place. It allows you to keep up-to-date with your leads, track your calls, individual sales and much more, making life a great deal easier for you and your staff.

Keeping your data and contact information together can be extremely handy and really improve your organisation’s efficiency. You can also personalise your customer service and tailor it to help you win more sales.

CRM allows you to converge your marketing. This brings a closer integration of sales and marketing, rather than keeping them separate. It can help both factions understand what’s working and how they can help each other, meaning a much smoother and easier process for both.

An added benefit of CRM software is that it enables you to analyse your data and gain insights into your business and customers.

There are several CRM packages that are very useful to small businesses wanting to manage their customers. Salesforce is a great option, or GreenRope is good for integration as you can include social media marketing and event management.

Password Management

It can be all too easy to forget your password and spend ages trying to log in before eventually having to get your password reset. Password resetting can also clog up a lot of your IT department’s time.

Being able to access your systems straightaway can save a lot of time and energy. Using a password management tool will make logging into accounts a stress-free process. Tools such as LastPass and Dashline offer a free basic version, as well as premium versions with added functions. You should ensure that your staff are using the tool too.

Managing your accounts

Account management can be a stressful task, especially if you don’t have any training or qualifications in bookkeeping. Using an accounts app can be great for storing everything in one place and tracking your finances. Of course, there are many types of software out there that cater to different kinds of businesses. Try Quickbooks or Wave accounting if you are just starting out or, if your business is a bit more advanced, Sage One Accounts or Kashflow are good alternatives.

However, before purchasing or trialling one, ensure that the software works for your company. For example, do you need foreign currency or a certain number of users? Each packages offers different services, so it’s important to make sure it meets your requirements beforehand.

These are just some of the ways you can start streamlining your processes and making things much easier for you, your business and your staff.
