Moore Kingston Smith appoints two new Partners

Moore Kingston Smith is pleased to announce the appointment of new Corporate Finance Partner, Damian Ryan, and the promotion of Claire Roberts to Tax Partner from 4 May 2021.

In joining the Media specialist office based in the West End, Damian brings a wealth of corporate finance experience spanning publishing, broadcast, outdoor and digital that will further strengthen the firm’s media sector services. His new role will see him lead in Technology and Media.

Damian offers a comprehensive understanding of the needs of media and technology business owners, having owned his own publishing company. He also established one of the first digital marketing agencies in the UK and Ireland, ICAN, in 1997 before moving into advisory services for media, marcomms and technology businesses.

Damian said of his new position: “Success is all about bringing value and industry expertise to clients, so I’m really looking forward to joining this truly connected, engaged and passionate network. That’s what clients need to reach their potential – trusted advisers who always have their best interests both at heart and in mind and bring them solutions accordingly.”

Claire’s promotion to Tax Partner will see her role reflect her many years’ experience in advising individuals, families, and their businesses on how best to manage their tax affairs and plan most successfully for the future. Claire is also responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, co-managing the private client team and leading on initiatives to streamline performance and enhance client service.

In recent years, Claire’s focus has been on advising a diverse range of UK and international clients on all aspects of private client tax. Her specialist areas are inheritance tax, trusts and succession planning, and estate administration. A member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Claire obtained the ICAEW Probate qualification in December 2017. Claire has long been recognised as an expert in her field, and as a rising star was named in 2019 as one of eprivateclient’s Top 35 Under 35s.

Claire said of her new position: “I am thrilled to be joining the Partnership at Moore Kingston Smith during such an exciting period of growth, both within the firm and the profession.”
