Moore Kingston Smith expands into Northern Ireland

8 August 2024 / Insight posted in Press releases, Corporate

We have more exciting news to share, as we announce the acquisition of Moore Northern Ireland, a fellow member of the Moore UK and Moore Global networks.

Moore Northern Ireland has offices in Belfast, Coleraine and Derry~Londonderry, with seven partners and 100 people providing accountancy and advisory services to individuals, entrepreneurs, large organisations and complex international businesses.

Recognising the business links between the financial centres of London, Belfast and Dublin, and with growing cross-border trade, we form a tripartite with Moore Ireland and Moore Northern Ireland to best serve clients operating across that geographical triangle. This move follows our acquisition of Moore Ireland in July 2023, as well as WMT in June this year.

Like us, Moore Northern Ireland is a longstanding member of the Moore Global network. Our firms are longtime collaborators, and we are closely aligned in our vision and goals, as well as sharing common cultures and values.

Matt Meadows, Managing Partner of Moore Kingston Smith said: “As longstanding members of the Moore Global network, we’ve enjoyed an excellent relationship with Moore Northern Ireland having worked with them closely over the years. This partnership brings us closer and enhances our ability to bring further opportunities to our clients. Together, we’ll combine our strengths, forge stronger business links and adopt best practices across our firms to their benefit.”

Nigel Thompson, Senior Partner at Moore Northern Ireland said: “Joining Moore Kingston Smith, a fellow Moore member firm and champion of SMEs, is a forward-looking move I’m pleased to see. We have long served the OMB sector, evolving with it, and this is a natural step given the direction of the market, which further strengthens our position as a leading adviser.”

Mervyn Dolan, Managing Partner of Moore Northern Ireland said: “Northern Ireland is a growing centre for the financial and professional services sectors, with an increasing number of international organisations expanding here. Having a presence across all three jurisdictions, and teams qualified to advise in the UK and Ireland, provides our clients with a truly integrated approach.”

This marks our fourth acquisition since our recent investment from European private equity firm, Waterland, to fund our M&A programme and growth strategy. It’s also the second to take place with new Managing Partner, Matt Meadows, having announced the merger with hospitality specialist WMT in June.
