Moore Kingston Smith strengthens advisory offering with key leadership appointment

We’re pleased to announce that Melanie Reed, a partner with us since 2021, has been appointed to the new role of Head of Advisory, on our Senior Leadership Team.

This move helps support our growth and respond to the evolving needs of our clients as we continue to provide streamlined, tailored and cohesive advice. Our growing range of multi-disciplinary services ideally places us to serve our clients in a way we know they truly value, and our advisory offering now brings together our full suite of advisory services, including Corporate Finance, Restructuring and Insolvency, Wealth Management, Forensic Accounting, HR Consultancy, Valuations, Moorementum, Moore ClearComm and Moore SGD Law. This enhanced, combined focus enables us to continue to bolster our offering and supports us in providing the joined-up, professional advice clients want from their advisers.

Since joining us in 2021, Melanie’s extensive experience and understanding of diverse business functions position her well to bring these services together. Having started her career in tax at 18, Mel spent 12 years at Grant Thornton before leading the national corporate tax practice at RSM. Her broad experience, including working closely with teams such as corporate finance and insolvency, will be instrumental in leading the development of enhanced collaboration among our teams, ensuring we continue to deliver on our purpose of realising ambitions for our clients. She also continues to specialise in providing M&A tax advice, particularly for clients in the media sector.

We’re also delighted that Melanie is now part of the firm’s Senior Leadership Team. Bringing a fresh perspective from her career at top accountancy firms, Mel is known for her collaborative approach. A true people person, she’s dedicated to understanding what motivates individuals, reinforcing our core value of understanding and fostering a truly inclusive environment. Her leadership is key in helping us continue to build a forward-thinking firm with plenty of ideas and ability to challenge the status quo.
