Recently released research showing that approximately a third of baby boomers had registered a lasting power attorney (LPA) suggests either that LPAs are insufficiently publicised or that they are mistrusted.

This means millions of people miss out on appointing a trusted family member or friend to take important decisions on their behalf before it is too late. That a similar proportion of adults do not have a will is arguably more concerning.
