Webinar recording: Tackling compliance issues in AI-based hiring and firing

11 November 2025 / Insight posted in

AI is a rapidly growing part of the technology sector with an ever-expanding selection of tools available with a wide variety of capabilities. While these tools promise benefits such as improved efficiency and lower costs, they also come with potentially high-risk negative impacts, including those arising from data protection and bias issues.

Our host, Rich Jackson, was joined by Meagan Mirza and Ian Inman, Data Protection Officers and Peter Jones an Employment Law Partner, at Moore SGD Law, to explore the compliance issues which can arise when using determinative AI tools as part of recruitment and selection and in dismissals.

They discussed:

  • how the law applies
  • things your organisation should be considering when implementing these tools
  • the risks of getting implementation wrong both in terms of regulatory action and litigation

They also suggested measures your organisation can put in place to help reduce risk and reap the benefits that AI can offer.
