Becky Shields

As Head of Digital Transformation at Moore Kingston Smith, Becky Shields leads the firm’s strategy on digital transformation. She is passionate about helping clients embrace digital technology to streamline their business processes, enhance access to key management information, and make innovative strategic changes to help them thrive.

One of Becky’s recent key projects was the development of KS Cohere, our award-winning bespoke data platform which analyses huge disparate data sets in real time to provide clients with invaluable insight into key factors affecting their business. Applying her technical knowledge and extensive experience to the data to interpret it, analysing the threats and opportunities identified, and helping clients navigate the most effective route forward, is where Becky really excels.

Having spent the majority of her career advising owner-managed businesses across a wide range sectors, Becky understands that every business is different, and every client has their own personal and professional aspirations. She enjoys taking the time to get to know each client, to understand what really drives them, and to help find them the tailored support they need to meet their unique circumstances.

As a specialist in digital transformation, Becky is always attuned to the latest developments in emerging technologies, and her counsel and leadership in this area is valued by industry experts as well as her clients. As well as being Chair of the ICAEW Technology Committee, where she leads industry-defining policy discussions and helps shape the Institute’s technology and data analytics teaching content, Becky helps ensure that managing partners across the professional services sector are informed of the latest developments in innovation, in her role on the Innovation Committee for the Managing Partners’ Forum. She is, furthermore, a member of the Technology Faculty Board.

Becky is also proud to be the lead representative for the SME market at Engine B, the professional services enterprise responsible for creating a standard access methodology to client data. As someone who is passionate about helping SMEs thrive, Becky enjoys assisting Engine B as it leads the way in establishing an industry standard approach to data. By helping professional services firms provide clients with access to crucial business data in a consistent way, the group will deliver equal access to all firms, large and small, for the benefit of businesses across the UK.

Becky is a member of Moore Kingston Smith’s IT Strategy Group, helping direct the ways in which the firm can use technology such as AI to help improve the quality and efficiency of the services we offer to clients, including audit. The instrumental role Becky has played in leading Moore Kingston Smith to fully embrace digital transformation has enriched her own understanding of the challenges facing – and solutions available to – business owners on their digital journeys.
