Brendan Hegarty

With almost 30 years’ experience, Brendan Hegarty is recognised by his clients for his committed, personable and straightforward approach. He works hard to drive innovation within Moore Kingston Smith, always striving to find new ways to provide the best possible service for clients. Having observed that business outsourcing would play a vital role in the future for UK SMEs, he set about building a management accounts and bookkeeping department from within, developing the services it offers since 1999. With a team of 40 staff within the UK and India, he oversees over 400 unique management accounts and bookkeeping assignments per year.

Brendan was pivotal in the inception and development Moore Kingston Smith’s online or cloud accounting service, Moore Kingston Smith Connect. Unlike similar offerings, Brendan and the team were passionate about providing the convenience of online, but offering clients real-time business intelligence and the personal support needed to improve business performance. Moore Kingston Smith Connect is now one of Brendan’s main focusses, as he develops the offering further using collaborative enhancement with companies such as Receipt Bank and Fathom.

Outside work Brendan enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He has a passion for most sports, particularly football, golf and horse racing.
