Maritz Cloete

Maritz is Director of Cyber Security and IT Assurance Services at Moore Kingston Smith, where he leads a 15-strong team delivering advisory and assurance services to more than 200 clients worldwide. He works with boards, executives, and stakeholders across corporate, public sector, and non-profit organisations to protect critical assets, achieve compliance, and build resilience in the face of evolving cyber and technology risks.

With over 20 years’ experience spanning Big 4 consulting, FTSE 100 corporates, non-profits, and boutique advisory leadership, Maritz combines deep technical expertise with proven commercial acumen. He has scaled advisory practices from start-up through to multi-million-pound service lines, delivered high-impact engagements across ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials, OT security, and penetration testing, and advised on regulatory frameworks including GDPR, NIS2, and DORA.

Prior to joining Moore Kingston Smith, Maritz founded and grew a successful cyber security consultancy, later acquired by the firm, and previously held senior IT audit and risk roles at PwC, Centrica, and Telefonica O2.

He is a Cyber Scheme Team Member (CSTM) certified penetration tester and a full member of the Chartered Institute of Information Security (M.CIIS) and has previously held the CISSP and CISA certifications.
