Peter Borton
A member of the forensic accounting team, Peter Borton is involved in forensic and fraud investigations, business valuations, compulsory purchase claims, business interruption claims and professional negligence claims.
He assists with preparing expert witness and advisory reports and conducting forensic accounting assignments, both in civil and criminal proceedings. Recent cases include: investigating the mismanagement and misappropriation of funds by one party to a property management joint venture; a financial viability review of a trust’s operations concluding on the best of two potential alternative diversification options; and a compulsory purchase dispute where the claim exceeded £100 million and involved experts from multiple disciplines.
Peter has attended experts’ meetings, conferences with counsel and conducted site visits to review the financial controls of companies who have been the victims of internal frauds.
Peter is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the ICAEW’s forensic and valuation special interest groups. He is also a member of the Compulsory Purchase Association (CPA) and is a committee member of the CPA Future.
