Charity Chats: Summer madness
It has certainly been a very eventful summer for the charity sector, which resulted in a few raised eyebrows. Our panellists James Saunders, Charles Mesquita and Catherine Rustomji discuss a variety of issues that have affected the sector in recent months and has kept The Charity Commission very busy.
- The Charity Commission recently updated CC14 Investment Guidance. The language has been simplified, but as much as some previously grey areas have been addressed, some new ones have arisen.
- Two charities based overseas have been investigated over their use of pre-signed blank cheques.
- Sir Tom Moore’s family have come under fire once again around making personal gains from Sir Tom’s charity and legacy.
