John Staniforth
John Staniforth’s grounding in general practice affords his clients the assurance of his extensive expertise and experience to advise them directly on all areas of their business, from audit to accounting and from taxation to business advisory. With almost 20 years of experience of working with professional firms and law firms in particular, John has an unparalleled knowledge of partnership issues, is an expert on SRA Accounts Rules and has an extensive knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP. These technical skills, combined with his professional and practical style, have made John a respected industry figure. He deals with a mixed portfolio of owner-managed businesses and private individuals, and specialises in professional firms, property developers and investors, and AIM-listed clients.
John became a partner at Moore Kingston Smith in 2003, having joined the firm as a graduate trainee in August 1996. He is the author of Financial Management for Solicitors and the Solicitors Accounts Rules published by Butterworths Tolley, and regularly presents training courses, seminars and webinars on the SRA Accounts Rules and partnership matters for clients and professional training providers. John is also a member of Moore Kingston Smith’s Governance Board.
In his spare time, John likes watching various sports including rugby and cricket and is a keen Sheffield United supporter. He is a family man with four children and enjoys DIY, gardening and socialising with friends.
