Karl Leesi

As Tax Knowledge Manager, Karl Leesi specialises in tax technical and policy work across all areas of direct and indirect tax, including contentious tax and enquiry procedures. This primarily involves advising on tax technical client matters, producing external and internal tax content, drafting responses to government consultations, and developing internal tax policies, procedures and databases.

Karl has both tax compliance and advisory experience from working in an accountancy practice, barristers’ chambers and city law firm, giving him a balanced and developed understanding of the practical tax issues faced by individuals, companies, partnerships, trusts and alternative entities. Karl’s technical expertise includes the taxation of non-resident trust structures, digital assets, non-UK domiciled individuals and employee benefit trusts (EBTs).

Having initially trained in the private client and trust department of a top-ten accountancy practice, Karl is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and an Association of Tax Technicians prize winner.
