Sarah Spellman MCIOF

Sarah Spellman is an established philanthropy professional with a focus on major donors, trust fundraising and strategy. She is skilled at increasing organisational competence in philanthropic relationship building. She is also experienced in providing tailored research and writing pieces to support key functions and special projects. Her approach is characterised by warmth and genuine curiosity about a charity’s mission, people, and ambitions.

Sarah’s background is in higher education, medical research, and hospice care, as well as consulting for charities from local to international level. She secured a transformative medical research gift for the fight against COVID-19 at the University of Oxford and was part of the successful Oxford Thinking campaign, which raised £3.3 billion against a £3 billion target. She is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and has served on its West Midlands regional committee.

Sarah is also a trained medical anthropologist and qualitative researcher. She has led sociological research into vaccine mandates at the University of Oxford’s Ethox Centre and is an honorary researcher in mental health at Imperial College London.
