Graham Tyler, Head of Media and Chairman of Moore Kingston Smith, discusses the challenges faced by the media industry with Steve Davies, Chief Executive of Advertising Producers Association.

Highlights

2023 to date has been a challenging time for production companies. There is a changing environment and in general the volume of work seems to have reduced. Graham asks Steve for his thoughts, and he talks about how companies can adapt by continuing to ensure they are keeping a close eye on costs and trying to cut back where possible. Steve also suggested that companies should be looking to differentiate the type of work they decide to pitch for.

Another topic of interest for the industry is Artificial Intelligence (AI). The industry has not yet been impacted greatly by AI, however, Steve talks about the importance of making sure that as a sector, the media industry should be at the forefront of future conversations.
