Moore Kingston Smith has further enhanced its family-friendly benefits package, in line with the firm’s commitment to providing its people with a suite of leading people benefits and policies.

Reflecting the firm’s people-first approach, Moore Kingston Smith now offers all its people who choose to have a family the option of six months’ full pay followed by four months’ half pay for maternity/main parent or adopter leave, with paternity/second parent or adopter leave comprising six weeks full pay, which can be taken flexibly in two-week blocks over a period of 18 months. The changes are complemented by additional ‘wrap around’ support for parents/carers, which includes a toolkit and coaching – both for the individuals going on leave and for people managers on how to better support those going on leave.

This is the latest enhancement to the firm’s people policies, which recently saw sick pay increase to full pay for three months followed by half pay for three months. All these changes take effect from day one of employment.

Maureen Penfold, Managing Partner of Moore Kingston Smith, comments: “As a people-first business, our approach has always been to create an environment where our people can truly thrive. We have listened to our people, and they’ve told us that they want to feel valued and supported first and foremost as an individual, and to have freedom and flexibility to choose benefits that support their life choices.

“As well as enhancing our family-friendly and sickness pay policies, we have led a change of approach towards our people, which better reflects the trust we place in them – and enables us to take individual needs into account more effectively.”

Maureen adds: “The health and wellbeing of our people are important to us and it’s imperative that people feel able to take the time off they need to recover when their health or wellbeing is suffering.”

Additional changes include the introduction of an enhanced flexible benefits package, Pick your Perks; and the use of new employee engagement software to facilitate enhanced, anonymous communication and feedback, to help the firm better understand its people’s needs.

The firm has also expanded its resourcing and recruitment team, which is supported by new resourcing software to help ensure all individuals and teams are resourced appropriately to facilitate a healthy work-life balance and ensure that people are not working too many hours.
