Remembering Mike Scoltock

25 March 2024 / Insight posted in Publication

Moore Kingston Smith is deeply saddened by the loss of our partner, colleague and friend, Mike Scoltock, who passed away peacefully on Thursday 21 March. A JustGiving page has been set up for donations to SASH, the charity for the East Surrey Hospital, who supported Mike and his family for five years.

Mike has been an integral part of our firm, and we will remember him as an optimist; a positive, caring, loyal colleague and a true wordsmith. An avid scholar, he always sought to further his personal and professional development.

Mike’s journey with Moore Kingston Smith started as a Senior Manager in 1999, leading to his position as Principal of Tax and Legal which he held until 2004. Following some time away from the firm, he re-joined the tax team as Partner in July 2017. Since then, Mike has made a significant impact on the firm’s tax offering; assisting his clients on all personal, business and capital tax matters, as well as in valuations and M&A. Always keen to further enhance our solutions for clients, Mike was instrumental in establishing the foundations for our valuations business, which launched in 2023.

In the face of illness, Mike maintained his positive outlook on life, reminding us that as long as there’s life, there’s hope.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. We’ll miss Mike deeply and will always remember him fondly. May he rest in peace.
