14 October 2021 / Insight posted in Webinars, Enterprise series

In this session, Gregory Perdon, Co-Chief investment officer at Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Ltd took a detailed look at where the UK stands in the global economy, with a focus on the future. Gregory covered some of the challenges the UK faces including climate change, housing shortages, access to labour Vs a lack of investment in robotics and commercialising R&D. The opportunities discussed included becoming leaders in ESG and sustainability, sustainable home improvements, entrepreneurship and an explosion of Unicorns and the digitisation of services. Also discussed was the government’s plan to ‘Build Back Better’ and if the proposed changes will steer the UK economy in the right direction.

The session ended with an audience Q&A covering some of the issues that have come with Brexit, sustainable investment, greenwashing, the energy crisis and views on interest rates rising.
