Annual Survey 2023 – Highlights video

22 January 2024 / Insight posted in Video

At the end of November 2023, we launched our Annual Survey on the financial performance of marketing services companies in the UK, at the prestigious BAFTA.

Our event covered the key findings of the survey, where Paul Winterflood, Head of Media Corporate Finance and Partner at Moore Kingston Smith, reviewed the KPIs and trends within the marketing services sector. Paul reported that this year’s survey saw the financial results dividing the industry into winners and losers, with the impact particularly acute in a high inflation environment. As Head of Media Corporate Finance, Paul also used his expertise to report on the current M&A market in relation to our results. With the last year or so dominated by high interest rates, a cost-of-living crisis and the noticeably tough business environment, agencies need to strive to be one step ahead of the curve and enhance their current offering to be an appealing acquisition target, whether it be now, or in the future. Paul also analysed the impact that private equity is having on the sector from a financial perspective.

Following on from Paul’s presentation, Esther Carder, Head of Media and Partner at Moore Kingston Smith, was joined by our panel members Camilla Yates, Strategy Director, Elvis; Natalie Graeme, Founder, Uncommon Creative Studio; and Sarah Golding, CEO and Partner of The&Partnership. The panel discussed the challenges and opportunities of the industry, the importance of embracing AI and the need for high calibre consultancy and advisory creative services to provide value to clients.

As previously stated, all proceeds from the event ticket sales will be donated to our current charity partner, St Giles – we are delighted to inform you that the total amount raised came to just under £9,500!

We are also thrilled to share our highlights video from the event.

We hope to see you all again at BAFTA for our 2024 survey on Wednesday 27 November 2024, save the date!
