Kingston Smith in St Albans celebrates success of ‘Dragons Den’ style charity crowdfunding event by The Funding Network Hertfordshire

The St Albans office of Kingston Smith is delighted to announce that The Funding Network Hertfordshire (TFN Herts) raised over £13,000 for four outstanding local charities at its recent ‘Dragon’s Den’ style fundraising event.

The event, which was sponsored by Kingston Smith, saw each of the four Hertfordshire charities make a pitch for funding and answer questions from over 80 local residents and business people to help them decide how to pledge their support, before a live crowdfunding pledging session commenced.

St Albans partner Silvia Vitiello was on the judging panel that chose the four charities – CHIPS, Resolve, The Gifted and ActOne ArtsBase – whose pitches were so moving and impressive the audience had a real challenge to pick their winner, so many supported more than one charity.

Silvia commented: “It has been a privilege to be involved in this fantastic fundraising event, which combines two of my great passions – charities and business – in the local community.”

ActOne ArtsBase was also thrilled with the event, saying: “We were so privileged to be part of such a wonderful evening.  In current times where it’s so hard for small charities to survive, let alone develop, this event was such a boost to us all.”

The event was generously hosted at the spectacular Rothamsted Conference Centre in Harpenden. Any post-event donations are welcomed by the four charities via the main Funding Network website.
